Let no one look down on your youthfulness,
but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity,
show yourself an example of those who believe.
1 Timothy 4:12
We reckon youth work is pretty important. Young adults are the lifeblood of our church, and so we want to do our best to get to know them and help them out with any questions and issues that may come up.
And, you know, maybe have a bit of fun along the way!
So, that's why we have a bunch of groups and events lined up in our calendar just for secondary school kids and up, throughout the whole week.
Senior Youth Club
Every Friday during term time we fling wide our doors for anyone of secondary school age to come hang out, play some sport, eat some sweets. Come join us from 7.30 – 9pm!
The Bridge Youth Cafe
Just like a normal cafe, except if you kicked most the adults out. We’ve got gaming, we’ve got food, we’ve got space to just have a chat. Open every Saturday from 12 – 5.30,
Just a fancy name for our group of teenagers that meet during the 10.45 services on Sunday. Get together and tear into what it means to be a young Christian right now.
Like, actual church
Of course, everybody is welcome in our church services, especially teenagers! You might particularly like our cafe services which happen the second Sunday of every month. You even get food and a cuppa there.
Every now and then we run a Youth Alpha. Alpha is a great way to start looking into Christianity, and is great for those that already believe, and those that don’t but just want to know more. It is a total non-pressure environment, we just meet for a good meal, watch a video and have a chat. For details of when the next one is, keep an eye on our Events page!
Every summer we cart a bus load of youth down to Soul Survivor in Peterborough. Soul Survivor is called a ‘conference’, but that sounds boring. It’s more like a festival. You get to spend the day hanging out with friends, going to main meetings to hear about what God is doing, and to seminars to delve even deeper into the specifics of that. If you’re not sure, talk to someone that’s gone already, they’ll convince you! For more details or to sign up, look out for it on our Events page.
