We are a large, diverse church with a heart for ‘introducing people to Jesus’, and to reaching out with God’s love to our local community. This position builds on work that has been ongoing for many years in our church and wider community, and its key aim is to give leadership and direction to all of our children’s and youth work - primarily focused on a pioneering approach to outreach & care within families & people otherwise unconnected with the life of the church.
You will be a key member of our leadership team, enabling and co-ordinating all our outreach ministry. Your priorities will be with families, children and young people – with a pioneering & missional emphasis on outreach in our local community.
You will be leading and inspiring a team of volunteers within our church, and also working ecumenically as part of the Penrith Mission Community (a collaboration of different churches in the area working together to provide a unified approach to mission and ministry).
Key parts of the role include:
- Directing initiatives that help people in our community – with a particular emphasis on children and young people – to explore and encounter Christ, and grow in their discipleship
- Enabling all church initiatives and activities relating to children and young people - including toddler groups, children’s clubs, youth groups etc
- Fostering relationships with families and young people in the community
- Participating in our ecumenical school chaplaincy team
This post would suit a person who shares our vision and heart for pioneering work within our wider community and its young people.
Is this you? We’d love to share how we could develop our passion for this work together.
