Introducing people to Jesus

24-7

“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Ephesians 6:18

Between the 20th and the 26th February 2011, the Church was encouraged by how God blessed the week of 24-7 Prayer.

24-7 Prayer is an accidental prayer movement that began in September ’99. A bunch of young people who found prayer difficult set themselves the extreme challenge of praying non-stop for a month. God turned up and they didn't stop until Christmas! People who wouldn’t walk into a church service came to experience God’s presence in the Prayer Room: some even gave their life to the Lord.

The idea of praying night and day spread into over 90 nations and nearly every stream of the Church. Thousands of 24-7 Prayer Rooms are now linked via the Internet to form a chain of prayer that’s growing year on year. All it takes is 24 people to pray an hour a day to fill a week. You can use the space to talk to God about anything you wish and try new ways of praying using the arts, music and activities.

  • ‘Our 24-7 week exceeded all expectations. Over 200 people used the prayer room, and more than 20 churches got involved.  24-7 has been one of the most productive (yes, prayer is productive!) weeks I have ever know.  People were saved.  The   lukewarm were ignited.  Unity made huge steps forward. Through 24-7 a radical vision was imparted way beyond anything our puny little talks could have accomplished.  The week has also multiplied itself into three other locations.’ (Ian)
  • ‘The Presence of God was so intense that I almost couldn’t keep away from the prayer room’ (Finland)
  • ‘Jesus is so near in the prayer room. Sometimes all of us weep for the lost. People just want to pray—we don’t have to urge them. We haven’t seen loads of answered prayers yet, but we have received vision, passion and a love for this generation.’ (Germany)
